One or more short quotes from
letter of recommendation by the above supervisor
It has been
my pleasure to know and work with Mrs. Susie Smart. Her
commitment to her profession is an inspiration to us
all. She motivates students to work to their potential
and
voluntarily acts as personal mentor to many of our high
school students that seem to naturally gravitate to her.
She regularly goes beyond my greatest expectations.
Mrs. Smart is a driving force
on our faculty. She contributes to the success and
positive parent and community perception of our school
in many ways.
I highly recommend Mrs. Smart
to you as she is one of the most outstanding teachers
you will have the privilege to know and work with.

Information about
you and your teaching history a director would want to
know about |

Teaching
art is my life's passion. I have attended many seminars and
courses focused on teaching art to children. During the summer
of 2002 I spent six weeks studying at the London Art institute
with the artist and innovator of the Touch Theory of Art.
Since that time I have incorporated these teachings into
my personal approach to teaching art to children. In my classes
we explore a variety of mediums, from fabric art to clay,
water colors, metal sculptor and more. After exposure to
each medium students choose the medium which they feel most
reflects what they want to say in their art and pursue that
medium for the remainder of the school year, developing their
skills.
In 1999 I received the Ohio
State Teacher of the Year Award for Art. In 1997 I received
the outstanding teacher of the year award in my school district.
With the absence of
the discipline problems found in the States, I have been
able to achieve even more with my students in International
Schools. Please feel free to contact my references.

Educational Philosophy or Personal Statement
|
| |
|
My
personal and professional expectations have been met
in each of our overseas assignments
because I seek out and energetically pursue challenges
making our school and, indeed, ourselves more beautiful
and socially conscious. I expect myself to make a difference,
my school to make a difference, and to involve all students
in reaching for their best within themselves and our community.
My enthusiasm for improving our world, my love for children,
an artistic ‘eye’, and a desire to ensure that
ALL children are literate children, are assets which make
me a well-qualified teacher. My successful achievements
in six years of international teaching as Art teacher,
Librarian and classroom teacher speak to my success overseas.
