One or more short quotes from letter of recommendation by the above supervisor

Jackson is by far one of the top teachers our school has known. The kids just love him and the parents are always telling me what a great job he does in the classroom. He is also very much involved in our after schools activity program and leads a Saturday bicycle club for a group of our middle school students. Jackson's art program has helped students to discover skill they didn't know they have. I'm certain many of these kids will now engage in some form of art for the rest of their lives. I don't believe you can hire a better teacher than Jackson. He has told me of his plans to live and teach overseas. We hate to loose him but wish him the best in this new en devour.

One or more short quotes from letter of recommendation by the above supervisor

It has been my pleasure to know and work with Mr. Jackson Harrison. His commitment to his professon is an inspiration to us all. Jackson motivates students to work to their potential and voluntarily acts as personal mentor to many of our high school students that seem to naturally gravitate to him. Jackson regularly goes beyond my greatest expectations.

Jackson is a driving force on our faculty. He contributes to the success and positive parent and community perception of our school in many ways.

I highly recommend Jackson as he is one of the most outstanding teachers you will have the priviledge to know and work with.

Dr. Ed Mubai

In addition to the above two positions, I have also received two awards for outstanding contribution to the State of Missouri, Child's' Art Program. I am credited with creating and implementing a State-wide curriculum adopted by all schools in the Missouri State School System. The curriculum spans an entire school year and is tailored to be implemented in grades 1-12.

I am also responsible for creating a State-wide curriculum for San Diego city schools that combines art and the World Cup of Sailing.

I enjoy creating curriculum and have a strong background in curriculum development. I have lead many workshops in curriculum development at my current school and as a guest speaker at various schools.

I am committed to teaching though it was not my first career. All my life I wanted to be a professional artist, but when I achieved that goal I gradually became disenchanted with the ups and downs associated with the lifestyle of an artist. I discovered teaching some years ago and find it to be a profession alive with challenges and constant changes. And much to my liking it is devoid of the hassles associated with the business of art. As a teacher I am free to practice and pursue my art interests and nurture and guide learners of all ages and abilities as they search to find their own individual styles. In my classroom, we have fun. I work hard to create an environment in which fun and humor are used to build confidence, decrease tension and and create an atmosphere in which kids feel free to be creative. Risk taking is a big part of learning and without it it is impossible to grow as an artist and learner. Encouragement, rather than criticism, gives my students motivation to keep trying and the needed sense of security to express ideas and ask questions. I do believe that school should be where students not only learn about about the world but also about themselves. Art is the perfect medium to express, encourage and develop self discovery.
